Frye/Wiles (www.fryewiles.com) is a creative web design and branding agency based in Riverside, California. With a focus on designing and developing results-driven websites, creating brand identity, and implementing search engine optimization, Frye/Wiles serves brands as diverse as Privacy Wear, Riverside Art Museum, and OctoClean.
Challenge
Our clients need sophisticated, marketing-focused websites to help them boost sales and drive brand recognition. But they also increasingly want websites they can update themselves after our initial design and development of the site is complete. A few years ago, we began investigating open source content management systems like Drupal and Joomla, but they were either too complex for our clients, or not powerful enough for our needs. Recently, we had mainly been using WordPress for smaller sites, or custom backend development for more complex sites. But there was no content management solution that had really addressed our needs, and that allowed our clients to then continually update their site after it was complete. It was always a compromise between power and usability. We searched high and low for such a system – and found concrete5.
