We don’t want to change the way you work. With concrete5 you don’t have to worry about what the CMS can do. Just design your site as static HTML and then replace lorem ipsum with block areas so your client can add content and functionality. You can convert a basic HTML site into a concrete5 in just minutes.

That theme is all your own code. You can use HTML5 and CSS3, or you can use tables and font tags - concrete5 doesn't care. We don’t make you to start with our own templates, we let you define page types that makes sense for your project. Maybe your site has just one page type, maybe it has dozens of unique page types. Regardless, it's your design that drives the process.

We built concrete5 as a toolbox for our own full service web shop. It wasn’t a blog or news site that somehow got called a CMS after years of popularity. Sure the in-context editing is simple to use, but concrete5 is by no means light weight. You can build big, complicated powerful applications with it quickly. You’ll also find that its flexible architecture makes it much easier to move things around as your client gets involved.

Our marketplace is full of add-ons that have been tested by both a committee of volunteers, and the core concrete5 team. You won’t find yourself having to be an expert in order to make anything work, and you wont find that installing one add-on causes others to break.
