5.7 Page Version Issues & Others

Hi All:

I've been using c5 for over 4 years now where I've completed 80+ websites in the 5.6 arc alone so I'm sorry to say but that there are numerous things with 5.7 that are disappointing.

I'm not part of the Beta community so I never got to test 5.7 in beta so I used it when 5.7 came out last fall. This big change is the reason I started doing numerous projects in WP and now that I'm getting more familiar with that community, concrete5 has a lot to compete with including this one in particular:https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/introducing-upfront/....

I'm a Front-End dev getting into fullstack using Meteor JS and node so coming back into 5.7, I honestly think that c5 took a step back from being "next-generation".

Here are a few issues I've noticed that really need work:

- GUI: it may look clean and cool but the user flow is all off. I've asked a few customers who knew nothing about CMS's and asked them to compared WP4 and C5.7. They like the in-page editing which is the #1 reason C5 is good for but they like the user-friendliness behind WP's Admin Dashboard. It's just overall easier.

- Page Versions: what happened to this? It was so easy to click previous and delete with the Trash Icon and now it's completely gone? What if I wanted to do an overhaul of deleting page versions?

- Loading times: comparing the load times between Edit Mode and the overall Page Load in 5.6 and 5.7.. 5.6 was faster and in 5.7, sometimes I feel like I'm back in the dial-up days. Even on a 200/200 symmetrical fiber line, editing pages are a hassle and buggy.

Anyway, I'm at work - only had a short time slot to do this but I just needed to get my input in here somehow.

Thanks,
Keith
