Elemental theme blue sky preset broken

Permalink
I there, I have just installed concrete 5.7.3.1, and I was trying out the Elemental theme. When I changed the preset from Sunrise to Blue Sky, everything broke and I had to reinstall. I tried again, and the same happened. This is the error:

Hello I am having the same issue and was wondering if you got anywhere with this one?

Hi,
No, no luck... It is very strange, because I have installed several projects and I don´t get this issue on the others...
mmartiniuk replied on at Permalink Reply
Ok, I am trying a reinstall. I have been able to reproduce the same results so far twice. Seems to happen only on edit of the page presets for background color and font color selections.

That's very strange. We haven't seen anything like this before, and I'm testing on a clean version of 5.7.3.1. When you say it breaks, does it break immediately? Does it break after you apply the preset and reload the page? Are you able to see the blue sky preset on the site at first, and then exiting edit mode is when it breaks?

Hello! Thank you so much for your time;)
Using Chrome browser.. Install - go set to private - go back to home page - go gear/edit/site - in design - press customize theme - change background color (or any other) to any other *** parseerror in css file loads all .....

Oh yeah.... there is always something missed right:) I am having the same result with the default sunrise color scheme..,.

And here - the same steps above to change any presets cause the same results. If I don't press the save button but go back on the browser I get the login screen with this error msg. - Invalid form token. Please reload this form and submit again.

Is that preset for browser back control?

And in page - design and custom template it will let me change block background file ok but the change is auto overridden by sitewide settings... so we have no change.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your reply...
After I had that issue, I reinstalled everything from scratch, and the first thing I tried was to set the blue sky preset. I had the same result, I get that parsing error code on top of the saving page. If I go ahead and save, everything breaks. The same thing with sunshine preset, the other two worked fine...

How are you installing concrete5? Did you download it from concrete5.org or is this through an installer program like Softaculous?

Could you attach the file found at concrete/themes/elemental/css/main.less to a reply?

Hi, I installed it manually by downloading the file from herehttp://www.concrete5.org/download_file/-/view/74619/... to the server and uncompresing in there.
I don't have access to it right now, but I will send you the css file when I get it.

Hi Andrew,
concrete/themes/elemental/css/main.less
obviously this file IS NOT CHANGED!... The same date as all the other files.

Which file is corrupt now? And can I simply change this one?
main.less files are on many places. But I couldn't find a edited file!

Hi, any luck with this one?

When I select the blue sky preset, i get an error (when it tries to show the preview).

When saving, I can't get to the site anymore (selected to use blue sky every where). When I want to try te edit the design, it doesn't work. The right panel is working though.

How do I revert the change?

Hi, Yes, we discovered that this error is due to the low ram memory from the hosting provider. I had IXWebhosting, and they expected people to run their websites with 32 Mb... Get a Bluehost or Arvixe account, and you won't have this problem...

Nope!
I have 128MB RAM.
I hope, that that's enough.
My problem is the same... I changed the color of the header theme from green to orange.
in the error screen this change is written in the less file::
@h3-type-color: rgb(255, 136, 5); (THAT'S ORANGE) see att.

@toni - I think there are 2 very similar errors at play here. The result is the same in that the less processor is not able to parse the less file. one issue is the low memory issue reported but I think there is also an issue where in some cases the parser chokes on the escaped quotes around helvetica in the font declarations. I might be wrong but I would try removing the first part and see if the error disappears. If it does - please report back so it can be logged and investigated.

I should say - only if you are comfortable doing this and make a backup of the relevant less preset file first.

Hi Andy,
Which main.less file is the one I have to edit?
WebcentricLtd replied on at Permalink Reply
hello again - is not the main.less. So long as we're talking here about the same issue you reported in:

https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/usage/concrete5.7-crashes...

then you need to edit the file \presets\blue-sky.less

as a test - if you change the line

@image-caption-type-font-family: ~"'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif";

to

@image-caption-type-font-family: 'Helvetica Neue';

for example - does it make a difference?

Like I said - make a copy of the original file. If you don't feel comfortable then maybe leave alone.

Really if you are going to make changes to the Elemental Theme you should make a copy and rename it in your application/themes directory.
