File Manager

I don't know about others, in 5.7 for me, the file manager is huge step backwards.
First when I upload multiple files I can't choose to assign them a set, i need to do this selecting all the new files from the list and assigning them to a set. This was much easier before. And here we go in the biggest issue. It took me a while to figure it out how the file sorting are working. Usually I want to see all my files from a set or outside of any set, but choosing the desired set in the File set field do nothing. On enter you can choose another set.
Finally to make the sorting you have to click where the keywords have to be inserted and hit enter. It is unnatural.
Could we have a search button somewhere and make the sorting with that without messing with keywords?

An another thing is if you don't have the file already uploaded in file manager and you insert a block for image and go to search for that image, choosing to upload the image in this way will result an error and your block will be ruined.

This all worked well before.

I agree that the File Manager in 5.7 is not as easy as it was in 5.6 and earlier. However, I'm sure they will be making improvements to it in future versions.

One big improvement that I really like in the new version is the the ability to edit images right there in the dashboard. In 5.7, you can crop, rotate, scale, and even change color tone (ex. change to greyscale).

I'm sure the new features are good and useful is some situation. I, personally, prefer Photoshop to edit images, but for quick edits are cool. However I don't think this is the reason why the file manager concept was changed. And sometimes tiny little things which you use every time make the big difference. And if you got frustrated because the tiny thing aren't there in a natural way, you get a negative feeling despite of the new and cool things.

I am having a major issue with the new File Manager, namely I cannot upload any files! I click on the 'upload files', it opens the dialog box to chose the file(s), I then click 'Open' and it does nothing. The same with drag and drop.

Please help, I am losing the will to live...

Hello

There was a bug with the file upload in concrete 5.7.1 but was solved and if you upgrade to 5.7.2 the file upload is working right. In any other version the file upload if working. If you haveother Concrete version then you probably don't have writing rights in the Files folder on your server. If this is your case please change the writing permisions on the Files folder, and any subfolder to 777.

Whenever I upload a file with drag and drop to the file manager, this ends up with the file uploaded two times. Than I have to delete one version. Is this a known bug in the file manager?
