New Public Profiles and Badges

Hi All

Great work with the new c5 community points system, i can see this coming in handy with future projects. One question i do have about the public profiles on the new c5 5.7 is the badges?

Where are the badges created? are these supposed to be linked with the actual concrete5 badges? Can these badges be customised and used in a community fashion on my own custom c5 site? can't find any documentation on the subject?

also there seems to no longer be a way for users to search for other users on the site, has this been removed or no longer available?

I have also attempted to view messages as a user logged in, and received the following message?
Class 'Concrete\Core\User\PrivateMessage\UserPrivateMessage' not found

Just a few comments on the new c5 if anyone can help it will be appreciated. I feel that the new user navigation is not as usable, as it was in 5.6, however i guess i will have to amend this in my theme.

The badges are actually made as groups. This has kind of gotten short shrift as we've focused on other things, and the new profile system hasn't been that publicized, polished or promoted, but if you go into your Users and Groups dashboard area, and make a group, you can actually set that group up as a badge group, upload an image, etc... You can also give users community points when they get entered into that badge.

Furthermore, those groups can be entered programmatically (although obviously this will require custom code on the server) and the automated groups job will take care of checking this code and entering users into the groups.

And I think you've encountered a bug in the private messaging system. We've fixed this and will release it in a release today.

is there an easy way to get rid of that badge-stuff?
or override all the members-singlepages?

Agreed. Is there a way to disable this?
