Project Topic Errors

Afternoon Team.

I was using the elemental theme to build a customized site . Almost finished, when I Removed all the old(standard) Topics from
/dashboard/system/attributes/topics/

And Added my new sections as needed, 1st their is No Documentation I can find on who to layout this?

DONT DO THIS - Causes Site and Database Errors by removing Topics? ? ?

I fixed the issue with topics not showing on the page attributes by re-seting them here.

/index.php/dashboard/pages/attributes

But I can't access the Project page? Its the Project List block I Belive is causing the error

http://sageroofing.usp3.net/index.php/portfolio...

An unexpected error occurred.
Call to a member function getRootTreeNodeObject() on a non-object

CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP?

Site is almost ready... And now its broken?

I Created a New project page But the same error?

Thanks
Carl

Hi carl101lee,

The Portfolio page uses a Topic List block and a Page List block. The Page List block results are filtered by the Topic List block.

You deleted the topics attributes that they were both using.

One possible approach to correcting this:
- go into the full sitemap and move the Portfolio page child project pages somewhere else in the site temporarily
- delete the Portfolio page (this page has the Topic List block and Page List block that are causing errors)
- create a new Portfolio page
- set up the Topic List block and Page List block using your new topics attributes on the new Portfolio page (see How-To)
- move the child project pages under the new Portfolio page

This How-To explains how the Topic List and Page List blocks are used on the Portfolio page:
http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/designers/how-to-usi...

Since you are creating your website on a live server, I recommend doing back ups during the building process (and scheduled backups when finished).

Hi,
I had already tryed moving the the project page, deleting it and creating a new one.
When ever I select the Project Template even on a pre exsisting page I get the same error.
BUT i can create a New blank page and add the blocks for the projects and it works no problem. Its only on the Project Template i get the errors?
Their must be somthing else loading?
Its a bit crap if you can't remove and add topics with out its getting messed up?
Thanks for any help
Carl
