Blank theme

I am trying Concrete 5 and I have one major problem. I chose the full and I thought, blank theme, but it has blocks that I cannot find any way to delete. I want a totally blank theme with no blocks. I want to design my site totally like I want it and hate being stuck with themes. This looks like it would be a great program but I have to find a way to delete all these blocks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance if you can help. If you can, please do not be too technical. Be very specific or I will never get it dons.

Try changing the page template to 'blank'. That removes most things.

Try a fresh install with the Empty Site version.

It is just downright stupid that we are not given a choice for a totally blank theme and not give the editor a way to remove some of those silly blocks that are built in. Blocks like copyright, legal, etc. are blocks I have no use for and cannot get rid of them. It is strange that you can add a new block and have the ability to delete it . But not from their themes, Oh no, we can't allow that, can we? I am about ready to dump this program for that one reason.

Hello,
I think there is a misunderstanding here.

Blocks are content that you add and delete at will anywhere on your page.

What you are talking about (copyright, legal...) could also be put in a block and easy to delete OR hard coded in the template and would need to be removed manually. Or as you said, choose a blank theme.

Having elements of a theme hard-coded is not C5 specific. Lots of other systems do that in their themes and even in their add-ons.

Having said so, I agree that a totally blank theme could be useful.

The default theme provides a way of doing exactly this. Don't confuse 'theme' with 'page template': the default theme contains many page templates, and the 'blank' template is, surprisingly, blank.

You are right. I now see a virtually blank screen. Only problem is that I cannot add any new blocks to it. Nothing seems to be working right.

I have a new theme in mp that is totally blank. No content and no blocks. You can build whatever you want. Fully responsive and customisable.

@Steveb This link is not currently accessible to most who don't have the appropriate permissions (I'm Guessing PRB access). It redirects to a login page (which isn't informative, but that's a different topic that has been discussed in the Leadership area here

Of course this above link is also going to redirect to the same login page for most who don't have access permissions to that area </grin>.

Is this a new theme that is perhaps not yet out of the PRB?
