Gallery with Album Thumbnails

Hello,

I was wondering if there's an image gallery add-on available that shows album thumbnails. Upon clicking the albums thumbnail, ideally a Lightbox would appear showing the images within that specific album (fileset).

Does anyone know of an add-on that has this function?

If I would be maintaining the website myself, I would be able to work with thumbnails linked to different pages, each showing a specific gallery, but I think that will be too much of a hassle for my client..

You could probably set this up with a number of simple fancybox galleries and a custom view template, so that in a gallery all thumbnails (or thumbnail containers) after the first were hidden by css.

Thanks for your answer!

That sounds like a good option. However, I must admit I have no idea how to achieve this... Where would I set the custom view template?

I'm looking at the Sortable Fancybox Gallery right now. There's no other option than fiddling with the block's css, but I don't think that's where I need to be, since I can't target the individual images from there.

I haven't come across other galleries that have the option to assign a custom template as far as I know.

As @mnakalay has already created such a template with his touch gallery addon, if you don't have any developer experience the very easy option is to use his addon and template.

I agree with John. I actually created a template for my add-on Touch Gallery for a client just last week who had the same need.http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/touch-gallery/...

Thanks for your reply!

There's no demo available for the Touch Gallery, so I'm quite hesitant to buy it. This project has a set budget which doesn't even cover my own hours, so I would prefer a free add-on if possible.

Anyway, I asked JohntheFish for some more details about the custom template and how to implement it. Maybe you could help me in that department as well.

Thanks!
