Addons assigned to old account

I was trying to clean up some old test accounts, now I have a number of addons associated with an account that show the licenses are assigned, but I can't find the way to un-assign them and either download them or reassign... am I missing something simple?

Hi Jim,

Here's a a 'How-to' explaining the process of transferring an add-on or theme from one account to another-

Hope that helps,

Best wishes,

what if the addons were assigned to a project I de-activated?

Did you delete the project page?

That's the only thing I can think of... I had several versions as I was setting up the beta site, then going live... some of the addons must have been assigned to one of the beta sites (using the same name). I deleted all the old beta projects. So how do I release an addon from a project that I deleted? Or, how do I download a new version of an addon if it's assigned to a dead project?

I may have to release those licenses for you, but first, go to your My Account section, click on Transactions in the right sidebar and then click on Licenses. Do you see your licenses there? If not, I probably need to fix it for you.

sorry for the delay... I had a project called The River which had several addons. I created a new project called the River, but not all of the addons are linked to the new one. All my purchases/transactions still show, and say they are linked to The River, but it must be the OLD river, because only a few are linked...

when I go to my licenses, some are assigned to the right project (The River) but some are not... when I do a hover over The River project link, I see there are two different project codes (one current and one older and deleted). Is this something that has to be fixed by C5?

It's just odd because I see in the marketplace that several addons I use have been updated, but my site is only flagging me to update one of them. How can I update to the latest addon releases (I've been holding out on upgrading to 5.5 because I'm not sure if the older ones will break the site...)

It's possible to create projects with the same names, but they really are different. What you need to do is identify the project that's correct and the one that's old and should be removed. Go to the project page for the old one and release all the add-ons. Then go to the project page for the correct one and add any add-ons that you need that you just released. Now go back to your website and see if everything looks good. If it's fine, delete that old project page to reduce confusion. Just make sure all the licenses are released before you delete it.

Now, about upgrades. It's very likely that many of your add-ons have updates but just for version 5.5 and above. That's what would cause you not to see them as available for your 5.4.x site. Before upgrading, you should go to the marketplace pages for all your add-ons and themes and check to see if they are labeled as 5.5 ready. (that will be in the big blue box at the bottom of the marketplace page for each item)

When you do finally upgrade, please backup everything first so you can revert if there are unexpected problems. There are instructions on backing up in the How To section if you do a search.

Let me know how it goes.

yes, there were two projects associated with the same name/website. I deleted one. Problem is, several of the addons we're not released from the original site, so I cannot release them to reassign them to the current site. Is that something you need to do? do I need to pm you the two projects (current and deleted)? Is is possible for you to release all my addons and I can reassign from the project page?

Yes, please PM me the info.

For future reference, it's important to manually release all add-ons from a project before deleting it or else the licenses could get lost.
