Aloft Media Patent Infringement

One of our clients received a letter from Aloft Media claiming that a bunch of items/tech used in the C5 platform was guilty of patent infringement and they want them to pay a licensing fee. It seems pretty scammy to me, but their legal department is freaking out.

Has anyone else heard of this? I'm attaching the list of patents that are being 'infringed upon'

They might...the client is a Fortune 500 company and they've got money.

if they've got a patent on hyperlinks the entire internet is in trouble.

Unfortunately, those patents do exist and that Aloft Media company is a known patent troll

The two things to keep in mind are that there are more and more legal precedents in favor of the defendants and that those patents are not really about Concrete5 itself but about specific ways to build and design a website.

Also if they actually said it's stuff in the C5 ^platform that's infringing on their rights, why ask your client for a fee? They should talk directly to C5 team
