I'm getting an Error 500 when I attempt to run a backup. Any thoughts to fix this error?

I got that when the database size had grown so big that the backup exceeded the site host’s allocated CPU limits.

It turned out that the Page Statistics table had grown enormous once the site went live. I turned off Track Statistics, used phpMyAdmin to delete the table, and backups have been wonderful ever since.

Yes it works perfectly, but here the table was called `PageStatistics`

Sometimes it might be caused due to server error. Check Apache or Nginx if they were working properly when doing backup task. For sms backup, you can check this post:http://www.tunesbro.com/transfer-sms-from-android-to-computer.html...

Worked for me too. Simply emptying the page statistics was enough though.

Thanx and best regards, Thomas

This is a way old thread. Its not uncommon for backups to time out even with page stats disabled. Since then, for pre 5.7 sites, I created the Backup Voodoo addon.https://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/backup-voodoo...
