Blog Entry page type dead

Got a pretty deep site with several blogposts. Just tried to add a new page, type "Blog Entry". The progress bar zips across the top then stalls a hair from the end and nothing. No error, no new page. It's just done. Not sure where to start, so I thought I'd check to see if anyone else encountered this and dealt with it.

If so, thanks!

Hi dardomorph,

Before the issue started, did you make any changes to the site - add blocks or custom code, modified files, changed settings, etc.?

Does this happen with other page types?

When this happens, do you have any errors in your browser console?

Have you checked the your server PHP error log or dashboard Logs page for errors?

Thanks!

Prior to the problem, I manually updated from 8.0.3 to 8.1 (relabeling the concrete directory and replacing it with the 8.1 directory). Site has functioned properly throughout this issue, btw. After updating this way, it started pulling a long column not found error on CMS login. When I clicked "Back To Home," it would do so without issue and would be in edit mode. It was at that point that I couldn't create the Bog Entry page type. The progress bar would zip along until it reached a hair from the end and then just sat and spinned. All other page types worked. While I didn't get too deeply into it, the file manager also started acting a bit jinky (returning inappropriate results from a search and refusing to complete image uploads).

As I said, the site worked properly and well throughout this.

I rewound the clock, restoring to the 8.0.3 version and everything straightened out except the Blog Entry page type. Worked around it by creating a new page type that dupllicates the old one. Mostly wanted to share the experience and see how I managed to bung it up.

Oh, and no errors show in browser console related to this and none are registered in the log.
