C5 Marketplace and what add-ons you would like to see

Feeding off comments I made about how ‘I love and use Concrete5’ it was suggested by @JohntheFish that I create a separate thread with what add-ons I, and hopefully other C5 users feel are missing from the Marketplace. As a non-PHP developer I rely on the choice of add-ons on offered marketplace as I suspect a lot of C5 users do.

We all know that it’s unlikely that the add-ons will be selling in the 1000’s each month as Wordpress plugins do, but as a guide it would be good to see quality ‘feature rich’ add-ons ranging from possibly $50 - $100.

There could possibly be a range of ‘Premium’ add-ons that could sell for more? If they are very, very good, possibly an annual or monthly subscription payment model could be a offered?

Just thoughts which I know have been discussed before.

The wishlist below is just a small example that I have found missing on searches through the marketplace when developing recent projects.

Advanced Forms

Mailchimp - integration with advanced forms that include functions such as conditional logic fields, auto address lookup & complete (using postal codes)

Integration with other web apps

This is continuing from above but one of the biggest headaches that is becoming increasingly common is that clients need their website data to interact and exchange with other online services such as Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, Booking Services, CRM’s etc…

This is where Wordpress is supported more widely and it would be great if Concrete5 could be as well.

Could this be solved more easily with the help of Zapier or similar?

Advanced File / Document Library
Recently I was asked if it were possible to create a more advanced document library which could search and filter the contents of the files. Such as PDF, Word & Excel documents that are uploaded by the client. There have been add-on’s in the past which did do some of these things but not for the current version of C5.

The above is just an example and I am sure the community may have more to add.

Thanks @JohntheFish,
I had after a bit of hard work found some of the forms listed above. Mailchimp itself is fairly easy to get a basic sign-up form working on a website, but, if we had an add-on like Formify with its conditional logic plus being able to connect the submissions to services such as Mailchimp / Campaign Monitor / etc... would make it almost PERFECT!

I for example developed mostly free add-on but I have a few I sell, the ones I have spent a lot of time on. I have transferred my little earned money from C5 to PayPal just to check out the process and what I can really get at the end in my bank - it's totally not worth it. It's not worth developing $20 add-ons unless you sell thousands of because you lose half of it through fees and commissions.

I'd rather sell 10 of each of my add-ons at a high price and then change the license to open source.

I also thought I'd sell for even $5 but now I've realized it's not worth it unless C5 adds more bank options because PayPal is c***p.

And most people want everything for free anyway. Yes, me too. But when they think $20 is a bit too much, I really only get a half of that. And I constantly fight myself, on one hand I want to just give it away for free as open source, on the other, damn, I really want to have a little compensation for 6 months of work at nights. Generosity vs greed... Which will win? )))))
