change directory name

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hello,
I have changed the name of the directory for the concrete5 installation in a subfolder of my root. I did so by changing the name of the folder via ftp and then simply modifying the site.php and changing the DIR_REL there. It worked perfectly, yet I wanted to make shure before doing it to my client's site. My question is, is it this simple? or am I ignoring something that will show up later on?
thanks

I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it configuration wise.

I guess the only thing to be on the look out for is if you hardcoded any links in your content or template to point to particular paths that include your sub directory. (That goes for any website, not just a C5 one). If you've just used the normal page linking functionality built it, I'm fairly certain you won't have any issues.

This guide to moving sites seems to confirm you wouldn't have to do anything else:

Good luck!

--EDIT--
I remembered there is another thing to look out for. The .htaccess file for pretty urls needs to be updated as well. You will need to edit the RewriteBase rule in the .htaccess file, or turn off pretty urls in the admin and turn it back on again to rewrite it with the correct settings. It should be pretty obvious what you need to edit though.
