Default block locations after update

Is there a better or preferred method to change the styling on default blocks?

Just updated to v.5.4.1.1 - perfect upgrade. I had changed the styling on the rss_displayer block. After the upgrade, I had to visit the /updates/concrete5.4.1.1/concrete/blocks directory to change the styling again.

Is there a way to retain the custom styling on default blocks after upgrades?

#1 don't change anything in the /concrete or the /updates directory, almost anything in the /concrete and /updates folder can be copied out to the root, (/concrete/blocks/rss_displayer->/blocks)
