Definitive guide to concerete5 search engine optimization (SEO)

Permalink 2 users found helpful
I thought some people might find this SEO guide useful. It covers both 5.6 and 5.7 websites. All of the things a concrete5 website owner should do to tweak their website to get the best rankings on Google are covered. Everything from basic things like how to tag pages to more complicated htaccess file changes are covered. Hope you find it helpful. Finally got a chance to take six years of experience with concrete5 SEO and put it into a step-by-step blog post.

Great guide Jamie. I've heard people telling "You need WordPress for a good SEO website" stuff too. But that's totally bogus, yet people seem to think it's true when they hear agencies talking that crap haha. Always have to laugh upon hearing it, yet again...

As for SEO, I've made an Add-On that will give you A LOT of SEO configurations. Think of website name, alternative name, company/person with company name/logo or person name, webmaster tools for Alexa, Bing, Google, Yandex & Pinterest, default title format and title formats for page types, meta robots (and being able to configure noindex for pages which got pagination in it, likewww.www.domain.com/page?ccm_paging_p=2,... only for page 2 and higher because you do actually want to index the page itself), setting a viewport, add social media accounts, set up social media meta tags (images, titles, descriptions specifically for Facebook, Twitter & Google+ or use defaults) and a whole bunch of other stuff. Should be the ultimate SEO Add-On, as people won't have to manually include meta tags or write stuff like "noindex", it's all switches, checkboxes and inputs to make it as easy as possible.

I hope it will be on the marketplace anytime soon, already submitted it so shouldn't take too long.

Let me know when you have a copy of it ready. I'd love to test the add-on.
Funny you mention the Wordpress thing. You might get a kick out of a blog post I re-posted just yesterday:

With a 105 shares, apparently more than one person has run into that Worpress SEO conversation in the past. Lol

I've read that article too, that may have been in my mind as well haha.

As for the Add-On, drop me a message and I will set up a test site.
