Developing a site by localhost, what to avoid

I am a very new newbie to Concrete5. Currently my site is hosted by Wix.com but I don't like it's limitations. So I want to develop my site using Concrete5 in localhost and then move it to a commercial server later. I have a couple of questions.

What are some things to avoid doing while developing in localhost be more I migrate?

Is it OK to assign add-ons in localhost without having issues with the add-on not working after I have migrated to the server?

Hi herethem,

If you are running on Windows, you will want to avoid database case issues.

The policy for add-ons has changed recently. I would look over this thread to get up to date.

What version were you planning on using?
