Grant Limited Access to Blog Entry in Dashboard

How do I grant access to the dashboard for blog admin but not give her access to anything else on the dashboard?

Alternatively, is access to the dashboard the only point from which to enter new blog content?

Our site has advanced permissions turned on. Can you give me a bit more detail on how a blog administrator gains access to the dashboard to enter a blog post but can't edit any other dashboard fields?

Well as for the dashboard you would have to check out the individual dashboard pages. (Check the view system pages link in the sitemap)

Then after that you would want to change the permissions on the actual page. For example you might want to give Blog Admin user group access to the sitemap/dashboard landing page and the blog pages (except for the settings)...

Hope that helps.

if this is my addon, then it uses the groups under users and groups, but the actual page permissions under the dashboard, as Mike and Themeguru have said are handled under the sitemap permissions.

You will have to allow your user to see the dashboard landing page by clicking the page, hitting permissions, then allowing to view. This used to cascade down to every page underneath dashboard, so you then had to click each node under dashboard(there are around 8-11 of them) and not allow that user to view or edit that page, except for the blog stuff.

The blog stuff requires the user to be in the correct group to perform almost any action there on top of the dashboard page permissions.

If this is some other blog addon then I have no idea how they are handling it.
