Ya I have a question, why is my bloody site so slow to initially load the homepage (+20 seconds) sometimes, after second load its around 5-10 seconds. Im using hostmonster....

LOL, I just posted to this out of frustration...I didn't think anyone was 'watching' this ancient thread...

I tried several things to speed up my site...including upgrading to 5.6.1...and Jonah has been helping me out as well (I am running the Bootstrap theme).

We pretty well narrowed it down to my host provider (HostMosnter) having slow sql queries - byte to first load was ridiculous. So, last night I switched my account to GoDaddy - they have APC now, and I got their premium package for 2 years (premium DNS and bunch of other things) for $140/2yr. I haven't yet ported my site but am planning on doing that today. I will report back my findings...

I have read some of your posts before...very informative...and I know this is not a c5 issue, not trying to bash c5...I love it!!
