Hostmonster/concrete5 default PW

I was given a default login & PW through hostmonster. It uses my X's email & a very hard to remember PW. I can't change it though they say I can- I don't really mind, but I would really love to change the PW. My X still allows me to use his email for this, so I can get the neccisary emails, but thus far it just won't budge. Is there some strange reason?

It sounds like a Hostmonster question rather than a concrete5 question.
If you're talking about the Concrete5 site password, then you need to log in with your "X's" name/password, then click on the "Dashboard" toolbar button, then click "Users & Groups", then click on the name "admin" in the list, then click the "Edit User" button, then enter the new password twice (I know, it's super annoying).
If, however, you're referring to the overall hostmonster account, then tallacman is correct that you'll need to figure that out with hostmonster as it has nothing to do with concrete5.
