Installing Concrete5

I deleted concrete5 and then re-installed because i could not edit my website using my username and password generated by concrete5. Now i want to access my website and the installation prompt comes up. I filled on necessary information - that is my mysql database info and sort fort but its telling that it cannot connect to database. Why is that?

is it an empty database, because if you are trying to use the same db name it has to be an empty table. You need to clear the database tables. Which version of concrete are you using?
