Latest Version is Here - Now What?

Ok, I just noticed that 5.5 is finally available for download through this site! Although it's not officially "the latest stable version" yet, I am wondering how it will be determined as to when and / or how it will be?

I tested it out while it was in BETA (and still sort of is, I assume?), and I can vouch that it is MUCH faster than 4.2.2. I love the new interface, and I know that my clients will too.

Also, I want to add that I think it's a good idea to have 5.5 publicly available, since there are so many environments that Concrete can work on.

So, now that 5.5 is available to the public, where do we (as developers and designers) go from here? Should we continue using 4.2.2 and wait until 5.5 is officially declared "stable"?

I'm about to tell a client to wait until tomorrow, but this does seem like it's closing in on pubic.

I have a few projects of my own to do, so I may wait a few days, just to see what kind of feedback and problems (if any) are mentioned.

I wouldn't say it's a problem, but it IS an issue: we need to add one more PHP code snippet
<?php   Loader::element('footer_required'); ?>
for themes to be editable in C5.
I just tried C5.5 on my website, and aside from that, everything was definitely faster and no glitches or bugs so far. A high-quality new version. Congrats dev team.

@growthcurve, you said it "MUCH faster than 5.4.2.2", how much fast improve in persen?

Noticeably faster. For me, and average page in 4.2.2 takes anywhere from 3 to 5 seconds to finish loading and 4 to 6 or 7 seconds when in edit mode. However, in 5.5, the most it ever took a page to load in both edit and view only mode was around 2 or 3 seconds. Of course, speed does also depend on the hosting provider, too. I tested both on the same server, though with the above results.

I see that the Scrapbook has been replaced by Clipboard, so I was looking out if there is a section for Clipboard, where we could delete the blocks that have been pasted there, but can't seem to find it.

Also, what if a site made in the earlier version had alot of blocks pasted in the Global scrapbook, would they be converted to stacks in 5.5.0

By the way congratulations to the Concrete 5 team, lot of great work done by you guys.

Deleting from the clipboard is not hard, though it might be nice to have a Dashboard section on it, you have to do it when a page is in edit mode....

Click on any area anywhere to add a block.....click on "paste from clipboard". All of the entries have a little trash can at the top right. You can remove clipboard items from that interface.
