License Question

I have read a number of posts about licensing and it seems quite clear that under the MIT license I can pretty much do what I like with the software. Change it, re-brand it, sell it etc etc.

I will be using the CMS in a commercial application that allows users to create and manage their own website so there will be multiple users of C5.

Firstly, can C5 be used for this purpose?

Secondly, within the license itself it states the following:-

"The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software."

What exactly does this mean? I have read that a reference to C5 does not need to be visible on the sites created with it and that the license doesn't actually need to be part of the source code either. So where does the copyright and permission notices actually have to be displayed/visible if at all?

Thanks

You can use the free core of concrete5 in just about any way you like, yes.

You do need to include the MIT license in that source. It doesn't need
to be in the HTML that is served to the public, but it needs to remain
in the PHP files where it is.

The commercial add-ons in our marketplace are licensed on a per-site
basis and have their own license agreement, which I assume you've also
found.

Hi Franz

Just one more question please. It appears that it is the TinyMCE editor that is used within C5.

For a commerical web builder what are the licencing requirements here? TinyMCE have their own licencing requirements however it is provided as part of C5 and you have your own requirements?

If using C5 do I just need to comply with the C5 licencing requirements or do I also need to take into account any 3rd party products incorporated within C5?

I would be grateful if you could clarify.

Many thanks

its LGPL, that means you can include it.
