Login problem with IE7

Hi -
I've got a page on my site which I want to be members-only. I've set it up so that it can only be seen by members of the Admin or Customer groups, and I've set up a sample member in the Customer group, and tried logging in as the sample member. It works fine in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer (Version 7), when I put in the login details the login page just blinks - nothing else happens.
The problem is that I work in the NHS in the UK and so do my target customers. In the NHS we have to keep using IE7, because we've got a system called Choose & Book which stops working if we upgrade to IE8. So if I can't find a way round this problem, my customers are quite likely to be bamboozled by it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most 'strange people' run IE10 now.
The software developer can't be that far behind?
Look for an alternative 'Choose and Book' service
