Mike,
I've been helping with this site. Let me give you some background. I logged in to upload a new theme. He had two or three themes installed in his packages folder but under "themes and Pages" only one theme was appearing - non of the core themes appeared or one he had purchased from the MP. I uploaded a new package and installed but got an error message that just read, "The following errors occurred when attempting to process your request: 1 " After some fiddling it seemed okay. But, after editing a page and saving it all the information on that page disappeared! Plus a handful of other pages just plain vanished. He restored the site from a BlueHost back-up and we repeated the installation of the theme. He then went to upgrade the site and got the following error message:
mysql error: [1054: Unknown column 'Pages.cPointerExternalLinkNewWindow' in 'field list'] in EXECUTE("select Pages.cID, Pages.pkgID, Pages.cPointerID, Pages.cPointerExternalLink, Pages.cPointerExternalLinkNewWindow, Pages.cFilename, Collections.cDateAdded, Pages.cDisplayOrder, Collections.cDateModified, cInheritPermissionsFromCID, cInheritPermissionsFrom, cOverrideTemplatePermissions, cPendingAction, cPendingActionUID, cPendingActionTargetCID, cPendingActionDatetime, cCheckedOutUID, cIsTemplate, uID, cPath, Pages.ctID, ctHandle, ctIcon, ptID, cParentID, cChildren, ctName, cCacheFullPageContent, cCacheFullPageContentOverrideLifetime, cCacheFullPageContentLifetimeCustom from Pages inner join Collections on Pages.cID = Collections.cID left join PageTypes on (PageTypes.ctID = Pages.ctID) left join PagePaths on (Pages.cID = PagePaths.cID and PagePaths.ppIsCanonical = 1) where Pages.cID = '15'")

Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for jumping in to help. The issue was resolved by Ryan Tyler of C5 today. I thought I just post it up so that it may help others. Ryan wrote "I found the root of the problem with the theme upgrade. The area names had changed from "Main" to "main" in a few of the page types. So the data for all those pages was still there, but it just wasn't displayed on the page. I managed to change all of the areas to be consistently named "Main" and ran some scripts on the database to make the content match the case sensitive "Main" name.
Now, we know!
