Need some help PLEASE

Hi Have a site hosted at iPowerweb. Never been involved with these guys before. My clients old site was hosted there for 5 years and he asked if we could keep it there. Went through myriad of problems just for it to load C5 even when they offer it as a web builder not a CMS. Their servers didn't have the requirements to run it. I run on, anyway - here's the deal. They crashed the site because of techs using their tools and the server got wrapped around the axle. I now have a db backup resident on the server. I have a clean c5 load. I need to get that db in this clean c5 install. That should get the site up again. I don't know their control panel well enough to know where to navigate to get it done. Can anyone assist me with this? I will pay for the help as I have a customer that is not very happy. My saving grace it that I did ask to me the new site to a different provider. I really need to get this site back up ASAP

Thanks
Joe

Joe,

Did you have packages installed? What about a custom theme, images etc? Do you have all that from the old site as well as the database dump?

Hey thx for the reply. Yes I am in the phpmyadmin now. I have a new clean
load of C5 and I have a valid db backup that has the packages and everything
in the tables. I am having a problem getting the db dump directed to the new
folder (concrete5). I have had a nightmare with thses guys and they have
just walked away and I am pickin up the pieces

Thx

Sorry to hear about your predicament. I am sure there is someone here better deserving your money.

I didn't see any other comments so I wanted to pass on some general backup/restore CMS knowledge.

I confirmed here,http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/installation/moving_a_site/... .

You mentioned that you have a db backup but do you also have the file structure from the original site in tact? That's where all your physical media files, themes etc are stored.

Those backups I can get from the host. The customer paid for backup and
restore. I can request the backup since it only pertains to files not db

Joe, PM me your ftp/cpanel info and an admin login to your site if you have an install going already. I'll check it out.
