Noob question on default blocks for homepage

Firstly - hello to everyone I'm new here.
Downloaded Concrete5 a few days ago and am trying to get to grips with various things.

I have a question and I apologise in advance if I'm being thick, I've just been round the block (no pun intended) a few times now and can't see the wood for the trees.

I know how to assign default blocks to a page type so that when a page is created it is created with those default blocks.

However, I cannot apply these to the homepage: the homepage exists upon site creation and the system appears to let you delete it (but it would seem does not really).

Is there any way to apply default blocks (breadcrumbs, text resize, facebook like etc) to the homepage automatically as well or is it just that that page has to be done manually and all the others just pull in the defaults upon creation subsequently?

Like I said, sorry if I'm being really stupid - sometimes it's easy to miss the most obvious things.

Hi Mnkras - thanks for responding but I can see how to set the defaults.

They apply to all the pages I create in the site but not the homepage. I still cannot figure if those changes can be applied automatically to the homepage or not. Must ne missing something...

doh!

thanks for that. Hadn't seen that option on the list when I set the defaults.

Thank you for the quick answers (and patience).
