Norton Verification

I am trying to get my website verified by Norton. It seems I do not have the 'root' page for my website in order to type in their code.

I'm pretty confused.

If you have accomplished this successfully would you mind explaining how you accomplished it?

Thank you,
Marilyn

It depends on where they want you to place the code. You may be able to add their code to the footer of your site by going to Sitewide Settings in your Dashboard and adding the code from Norton into the "Tracking Code" box, then saving it.

Thank you for responding Lucas.
Yes, I already tried that, but all it did was add that thread to the bottom of my webpages.

How did you get your webpage verified through Norton, or is it not really that important?

I have not used Norton, and I don't really see the need to be verified through them, although this may make sense on an eCommerce site.

After reading a little about what they want you to do, it sounds like you'll need to upload the authentication file they provided you to the root folder of your site (basically the main public level). If you do not know how to do this or do not have FTP access, you'll need to contact your hosting provider or whoever setup your site for you.

You may have a control panel that has a File Manager available. You could use that to upload the file as well.
