Posting Sold Across Photo of Item

I'm using the gallery block to display inventory for a consignment business. The owners are worried that people might view the items on-line and come in to the shop only to discover that the item has already been sold.
Is there an easy way for a client to put "Sold" on an inventory item?

Otherwise, I'm not sure there's an easy way to do this -- I'm not totally familiar with the gallery block but does it have an option to show a caption or title for images? Perhaps you could display the title/caption, and leave it blank for items that are in stock but set it to "SOLD" for sold items?
If the gallery block doesn't let you do this, you can try my Deluxe Image Gallery (http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/deluxe-image-gallery/... ) which lets you display captions and set them very easily when you edit the block.
