Slow load times

Hi Guys,
I am a web developer and do lots of work with both custom bespoke html/css/php sites and also with wordpress sites. For one of my personal websites I recently decided to convert it to concrete5. I have for a long time searched for a simple page orientated CMS that focused solely on content rather than a very complex back-end which is often overkill for simpler sites and quite difficult to hand over to clients in my humble opinion. Concrete5 really hit the spot here and was exactly what I had been looking for. I easily converted the theme in no time at all and installed concrete5. However the load times of the concrete 5 site are much longer than the custom coded PHP/MYSQL CMS that I had the site running previously. I am on hostgator for this site and find them very very good. Never have I had problems with them, however the latency of this sitehttp://www.senshinkai.net is making me consider rolling back to the previous site. It is a very simple personal site and is still very slow. It was not slow on the old system, it was very very fast in fact. Any thoughts on what could be causing the slow down. I have no plugins or add-ons running just the concrete5 core.

Thanks,
Barry.

Hmmmm.... I just tried the suggestion about the ZEND cache optimizer mentioned in the second post on this forum threadhttp://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/usage/super-slow-c5...
and it seems to have made a big difference.

Looks like your site would benefit from the "miser" touch. You can turn off the CC5 cache completely then.

Find

version is 1.2.0 as of 14th March 2011

on this thread.
