some issue uploading user profile pictures

I have installed the NEAT theme - and I am not sure if it is related to that or if it is a settings issue that I am missing somehow??? (probably the latter).

I have activated "public profiles" but have the Directory only visible to that Admin. When the User clicks on "View Profile" and goes to upload a photo, it at first appears to work, but it does not save. I found ONE way to actually get it to save, and that was through the Admin Dashboard to Members then click on each User and then add the picture from there. Even as the Admin, I could not add a photo from the "Members/View Profile" link.

Any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks a bunch.

I'm not sure since I haven't tried it but my guess is users profile images are uploaded to the file manager in which case you might have to set the file manager's "add files" permissions to allow your user group to do so.

thank you- I changed the permission for registered users to add files, but that did not change the issue. The user still can not update their own profile picture. I also noticed that on the Profile page it gives the user the "welcome back" link - which looks like Admin stuff.... don't want that showing up either..... again, not sure if this is a C5 issue or the Theme?

I just tried changing the new account settings from "only admin can create new accounts" to "anyone- with email verification".... that also does not hold the picture. So, it's strange, the user can drag in a photo and resize it, click the green button to "save" and it is there UNTIL leaving the page.... returning back to the user profile settings page and the website the photo box reverts back to the gray avatar. Only the pictures manually installed by the Admin while the Admin is on the Members Page will remain on the site.
