Been using Concrete5 ove the past few years for a few sites and have always raved to all and sundry about how great it is.
Just downloaded and tried installing 5.7.3.1 and still can't get themes to work. Did this twice and can't waste any more time. Pity really as Concrete5 is the best IMHO.
Just the recent release seems not quite ready. Surely when you go to themes, you should be able to see all the default themes that come with the installation, not just one.

Thanks for the reply. In the themes folder there are themes for greek salad and dark chocolate etc, surely they should appear themes section.
I also downloaded the fruit theme and it doesn't appear at all. Also looked at the converting a html doc video for 5.7 and still nothing appeared. (this was on windows 8)
Am now back on my trusty Ubuntu laptop and will try again using linux (though I'm not sure the OS is the problem)

just made a comparison between 5.6.3.1 and 5.7.3.1 and noticed the file structure is different.
Previously we had a concrete5 folder that held all the files relating to the structure of c5. we also had a lot of files next to that concrete folder. Files like themes,tools,files, blocks etc.
These were the folders that I edited / added to (eg: themes)
in 5.7.3.1 there are no files like this - only application, concrete, packages, updates
Am I thinking that the files / folder I used to access have been moved to the application folder?

All the "concrete core"-files are now in the /concrete folder, the /application folder contains all the overrides etc.,
So if you customize your own theme, you will put it into /application/themes
If you buy a theme from that marketplace which comes as a package, you upload it to /packages folder.
When I started playing with 5.7 I was confused because of the new structure, the new way of creating custom templates and so on. But after I found all the necessary infos and could I apply them - I like 5.7 !
Before using it for complex sites, I will wait a little, until my most favorite add-ons are available for 5.7, but simple sites that dont need much add-on related functionality work very well.

Was starting to think I'd have to consider another cms but was determined to find out more before possibly having to move away. Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who got a little confused.

there is only 1 theme that comes built-in with 5.7. It can serve as a good base fir creating your own theme. There is also a very good free theme in the marketplace - Fruitful - along with a number of paid themes.
5.6.x still has a lot of life left in it yet.
