Unusual Menu Set-up - Assistance Required

HI C5-ers,

I have a client who is a complimentary therapist, and the website menu is split into two areas - Categories which lists Sports Injury, Cosmetic, Men's Health, Women's Health, Weight Mgmt & Holistic Health - and then Ailments & Treatments. These are all in one Autonav styled with some clever CSS from Jordanlev to make them look like two different sections of the menu.

The client wants the relevant Ailments to appear in a sub menu on each page within the categories listed above. At the minute Ailments is over 40 pages in size and broken down into different sections with parent & child pages. I was using ChadStrat's related pages add-on which worked well at first, until the client started creating Parent & Child pages. Any tagged child pages didn't show up. Also after the upgrade to 5.4.2.1 it stopped working altogether, just giving me one page in the list.

Ideally I'd like a block which honoured the parent/ child set up and generated a fly-out menu. If this took into account the tags we've previously set up that would be perfect or if it was a manual selection of each page into a sub-nav, that would be cool too.

Is there anything in the marketplace at the minute that can do this or does anyone have a solution that might work.

I think I have a solution to this problem but I don't know how to implement it. I've downloaded the Vertical Mega Menu from the marketplace and will use this on the ailments page & on all pages below this - both parent & child ailment types.

On each of the category pages then I want to add a new mega menu block for each parent ailment that I need a flyout menu for. At the moment using this block I can set an option to "display pages below" and choose that page. What I need is to set up an additional element in this dropdown or create a custom template to apply to the block that allows me to choose pages to "Display pages below" but it also shows that page, giving me the flyout menu.

It's not particularly elegant and the client will have to add new Mega Menu blocks manually each time she creates a new Parent page in Ailments but it's a solution. Can anyone help me out with where I need to look and what I'd need to change to get this working.
