upgade problems from 5.3.2 to 5.4.1.1

I have tried to upgrade my version 5.3.2 to 5.4.1.1
I am on a Mac OSX
I have downloaded 5.4.1.1 and followed the instructions and in my FTP Fileziilla
dragged the concrete file to the FTP many different ways then tried to open the url stated in the instructions but this url opened blank every way I tried.
Is this url suppose to open blank?
What am I doing wrong or are there a lot of problems with upgrading.
Please help me with step by step insertions
