URGENT! trouble accessing site

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I've been having trouble with my site for almost two weeks now.
At first I thought it was a problem from my hosting provider but now I'm suspecting it might be something else.
Let me start from the beginning...
I had transferred my site from one hosting server to another, and on the new hosting server, I changed the account's principal domain name from ' .net ' to ' .org '
Now I face problems accessing the site at certain times of the day. When I do access it, I can work on it for about 2–4 hours and then suddenly it stops working. I have already tried clearing the cache...
When the website is down & I cannot connect, I can still access my CPanel.
The domain name is not correctly resolving... I am suspecting an issue in concrete5. I have developped the C5 website inside a folder in the root. The ' .htaccess ' file is correctly redirecting and my root/config/site.php settings are correct.
Can anyone advise?

Thanks

As you have said that the domain name is not resolving correctly sometimes, this suggests to me that it is a dns or server problem, not a concrete5 one.

When the site goes down, are others able to view the site? Are you able to ftp in, or view a file on the server such an image or something like robots.txt?

You could use a tool like this to check:http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ whether the site is up during these times.
The DNS health section of that site might also give you some clues to what the problem might be.

I've seen similar problems when a DNS record has duplicate entries (useful for load balancing I believe), with a site jumping back and forth between old and new servers. So perhaps double check the dns entries.

You're right in ur last suggestion.
I asked my old hosting provider to completely remove the dns entries of my domain name and that corrected the problem.

Thanks !
