Usenet Newsgroups

Is there some magical way of accessing Usenet Newsgroups directly through a C5 web site that I'm not aware of? I realize that this is an odd and exotic question. The situation is this; a site I run is for and about the Usenet Newsgroup alt.smokers.pipes (aka ASP). A number of the members of ASP are computer illiterate and can not handle installing a newsreader, either stand alone or within their email clients, so they depend on Google Groups' GUI system through their browsers. When Google Groups goes down, as it has this past weekend, they're lost.

What I'm wondering is if there's an application that could be installed on my web site that could access someone like eternal-september.org's system as simply as possible.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Best regards,
Bert

Have you seen SourceForge PHP NNTP client
http://sourceforge.net/projects/web-news/...
Project is old, but maybe you could even build a C5 block from it?
