User Information such as About the Author

Hi All,

How would I go about pulling user information into a page? I'm trying to add "About the Author" from the user's profile to my discussion forums. I'm sure there must be an easy way but I can't find it.

Using 5.6

I'm not sure if its available in 5.6, but in 5.7 you can get the author (user id) from a page, and then get this user's name and other info.
