Version Comments are disappearing...

Hi, folks.

I'm encountering a weird little bug with the version comments that are added by a user who edits a page and then previews the edits. If I enter edit mode on that page to read the version comments left by the author (we use that field to track descriptions of changes made by an editor), and then I exit edit mode without doing anything, the version comments for that version are deleted and replaced with "Version #".

Likewise, if I visit an edited page and click the "Approve Version" pop up in the top right of the screen, it opens the edit mode. Once again, if I exit edit mode, it removes the version comments, replacing them with the generic message I posted above.

If I go in and edit a page and then publish the edits (as opposed to previewing them), then the version comments will remain. However, if I enter edit mode again to read the version comments and then exit edit mode, it wipes them out.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? I didn't see anything in my forums search. This is a relatively important feature for us, since we use c5 to house a library of process documents that can be modified by multiple authors. It's crucial for us to know what changes have been made without having to hunt through each line. The compare versions functionality helps, but having the version comments would be ideal.

I've never seen it, but I'm also not using version comments as
aggressively as you.

You should post this to the bugs section and see if it's reproduceable:
