website continually prompt to accept cookies for site users.

Hi All
I have an issue where our site always prompts to accept cookies, a banner appears at the top of the page with a link to a privacy policy.

How can i stop this prompt. we use concrete5, i have looked at the Cache & Speed Settings in Optimization Settings in the dashboard and tried variations of options but it still happens.

Im quite new to this and did not develop the website and haven't had any experience with web development.

Great full for any help.

Thanks

Steve

Hi stevep3577,

You most likely have an add-on that is creating the cookie warning. I would look through the installed add-ons for anything with "cookie" in the name or description.

This page describes package installation:
"Add Functionality"
https://www.concrete5.org/documentation/using-concrete5-7/dashboard/...

What is the link to your site?

While in Edit Mode, do you see a block somewhere near the top where the cookie notice is?

There looks to be a block called "cookie_warning".
<script type="text/javascript" src="/blocks/cookie_warning/view.js"></script>

Do you see a block with "cookie" in its name in the Block Types section?
Dashboard > Stack & Blocks > Block Types

Now that you have identified the block causing the cookie notice, an option is to delete the block from the area. This should make the notice go away.

OK great, however this Block is also on our uat.riskcare.com site but does not cause an issue when navigating pages within in the site. The banner pops up on all but the About and Contacts Tabs when usinghttp://www.riskcare.com

Also if i remove will this cause anyother issues?

Thanks

I don't think deleting the block will cause any other issues.

As insurance against any potential side effects, I recommend making a full backup before changing the site (files and database).

Also, do you have the contact information for the developer who created the site and the Cookie Warning block? You could e-mail them for more information.
