Website Speed

Hi Everyone

Can anyone help? I am have a real issue with my concrete5 sites being really slow and my clients are complaining. I host with Heart Internet and I have checked that Zend Optimiser is installed and therefore followed Andrew's method to speed the sites up but nothing seems to make a difference.

I am pulling my hair out on this issue so can anyone suggest any other speed increasing techniques? the worst site ishttp://www.excel2sage.co.uk

Cheers

Justin

Hi Justin,
Any details you can share?
Subjectively: As a consumer/end user, the site link you posted loaded quite fast on my desktop (under a second)

If we are looking for timed results in msec, what have you recorded and what is your target performance goal?

You have two missing image files that do not help (404 errors). Also....

Scroll to the bottom of the "Concrete On Steroids" thread an download miser 1.2.0.
Install those files (there's only 2 - one for the helpers directory and one for the views directory) Then turn off CC5 caching. See if it helps.

Hi dere.

Phallanx, that thread is a crazy mess, but what you've said here makes it sound so simple. Could you possibly reproduce the steps to installing the 2 files here so that we have one thread that's not a mess and one thread where people talk about all there various problems and questions pertaining to installation errors and licensing issues?

I have no clue where to begin in that other thread. Normally, I'd think "the top" is where to begin, but your post here specifically says "the bottom." The bottom keeps expanding. Currently, there's nothing on the bottom that shows 2 installations.

Try the "Miser" thread. Phallanx has the download link at on the first post. http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/customizing_c5/miser-web-...
I recently tried this on a clients site that was slower than others and was VERY pleased with the performance difference :)

Much thanks! Yeah, I just installed C5 on Netfirms and it is slower than molasses. Obviously, it has something to do with Netfirms' performance, but C5 can be pretty damn slow on it's own. I've had the problem on myhosting.com sites, too. I just hope I don't run into as many difficulties and questions as people on that first thread did. I was initially very interested and then saw all the discussion and felt like it was way over my head. Oh well, we'll see... thanks again.
