What does concrete5.org use for a forum? Is it available?

What the title says. I'd like to have a forum on my website and am looking for one that integrates well with concrete5. Is the forum on concrete5.org a module that's available?

This forum runs out of an old version of concrete5 (concrete5 - 5.5.2.2a1) so even if it was available as an addon, it would not be compatible with the latest concrete5 versions.

Concrete 5.7 and newer has a feature called "Conversations", which would be ideal for creating a forum. You'll also need to use Topics. It's possible to build a community forum out-of-the-box.

Do you know of any examples or documentation on how to set up a forum with Topics and Conversations? I've looked but haven't been able to find anything.
