5.6.1 Available

Just wanted to let everyone know that concrete5 5.6.1 is now officially available. This beta period has been going for awhile, and we've gotten a lot of new updates in the last few weeks, in addition to the many performance improvements and bug fixes that we've put in since 5.6.0.2

You can download 5.6.1 here:
http://www.concrete5.org/download...

And you can see all of the changes in 5.6.1 here. There are a lot of them:

Assuming no subsequent point updates are required, we will be updating the remote updater to serve 5.6.1 next week. Thanks!

This is fantastic news - the change and bug fix list looks incredible.

After reading your notes about what you've done on the caching side of things the other week I've been eagerly anticipating this release.

Thanks for all your hard work Andrew, and to everyone who has contributed through github, bug reports, etc.

I'm excited about this version. Even in beta it was MUCH faster than any previous version. Getting started on several new projects with this version!

Reading frz post :

http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/internationalization/shou...

I expected to see the discussion addon builtin the core of that version, but it is nowhere to be seen in the release notes ?

(at the time of that post, 5.6.1 was not yet out, so I expected 5.6.1 to be that next version frz spoke about).

Could you clarify please ?

My understanding is that the forums, new content editor and grid are all planned for 5.7. 5.6.1 is mainly limited to improvements to current functionality.

OK, got that.

Is there a roadmap somewhere stating what is planned for what version ?

I've just installed new version and performance improvement is really sensible, i feel it without any measurment. My first profiling at dashboard pages shows 400% improvemnt in loading time in comparison with 5.6.0.1 .
Good job c5 team, as a fan, hope this release will be a big step toward increasing c5 share at cms market.
