Ad Driven Magazine

Greetings! I'm a business owner and have been evaluating Concrete5 along with other CMS systems. My objective is to publish a USA-based digital magazine funded by advertising. Joomla offers much of what is needed, but it is not as easy to use as Concrete5 for the non-technical folks.

Specific needs include content submission, editing, approval and publishing workflows in addition to social engagement features and integration with social networks.

Content will include stories, articles, classified ads, display ads and video commercials. Stories, articles, features, etc. will be authored by members of an Auhtors group, edited by members of an Editors group and published by members of a Publishers group.

Advertising content will be controlled by members of other groups using a similar approach.

All content and ads must be able to be scheduled by date range, and ads need to include mechanisms for purchase, targeting, display location and prioritization.

Ads will be of various types and sizes, and there will be pre-defined locations on pages where ads are displayed. These locations must adapt dynamically based on ad availability, size, type, audience targeting and include intelligence to maximize revenue.

Note that these ads are NOT banners displayed via ad networks. These are ads hosted within the CMS, although it would be a nice integrate displaying ads from ad networks like Google AdSense, Bing, DoubleClick, etc. as an option.

All content must include analytics, and ads will optionally offer click-through landing pages and optional e-commerce features specific to that advertiser.

The solution also needs some CRM functionality to manage sales leads and the sales pipeline.

Suffice it to say that the solution is far more than a mere collection of add-ons that aren't integrated together as a single solution.

My question(s) are:
1. Is there any pre-built solutions for Concrete5 that will address the needs of a journalistic style publishing company where many authors, editors, sales people, etc. collaborate on the content of the site and the advertisements that fund it?

2. If not, which add-ons would you recommend to purchase as a springboard?

3. If neither 1 or 2 above, are there any Concrete5 developers you would specifically recommend that I get in touch with?

Thanks much for your help!

Since yours is the first reply to this post, I can honestly say that there wasn't much interest or help from the c5 community.

My own research revealed that nothing is pre-built for c5 that does everything. I found a few add-ons that provide a tiny portion of the functionality addressing only parts of the overall requirements. Each of these add-ons would have to be extended and modified to provide missing functionality and mesh into a unified system.

Considering the above, I abandoned c5 as the platform for this project. The gaps are just too significant.

Hope this helps to save you some time and effort.
