Admin group can't see all File Manager files

Permalink 3 users found helpful
I've recently updated to 5.6.0.1 and turned on Advanced Permissions. As far as I can tell, I've set the permissions so that everyone in the administrators group should be able to see all the files in the File Manager.

But right now only the superadmin account can see all files. Other accounts can only see the files they've uploaded, even if they're in the administrators group.

Any ideas what I need to do here?

If anyone else is having this problem, it's not enough to set permissions in sitemap...

Go to 'System and Settings' -> 'File Manager Permissions' -> the add your user or group to have permission to 'Search files in File Manager'

caught me out too!

Same problem. I uninstalled and went back to simple permissions but still can't share the files in File Manager. New images seem to be OK so I am reloading all the images.

Also having the same issue. Upgrade from 5.4.2.2 -> 5.5.(latest) -> 5.6.0.2 and am having this exact issue. The files that were never in any sets are still visible to all users, but any files that were put into sets have "vanished." That is to say, only the super-admin can see these images anymore.

More importantly, a file uploaded by a given user can only be seen by that user, so even taking the time to re-upload all these images would be wasted.

This is a major functionality issue, and I currently don't see a bug report for it, so I'm going to add it.

I'm having the same issue! is there some workaround that works? I have to give Super Admin to client because of this and I don't like it one bit.
