Advanced Permissions problem

I have an permissions problem using the old advanced permissions (concrete 5.5.2).

My page is not showing up to non-admin in users (guests, registered).

When I go to edit the page, it says "Set By Area of Site" and everyone should be able to read the page (see image, "edit-mode").

However, if I view the same page in the sitemap, the same page says "Set By Page Type Defaults".

To me it looks like the page should be viewable. But when I log out of the admin, I cannot see that page.

Can anyone help me? I just want to make this page type ("Events") viewable by everyone by default.

Also, the page shows if I go and set the permissions "manually" (see attached "manually.png"). But this way isn't ideal because I don't want my users to have to mess around with permissions every time they create a page. Is there a way to set it up so that the page shows to guests and registered by default? Obviously it was like this at some point and I don't know how it got this way, but I need to set it back.

I tried going into the page types and setting the default page permissions to "area", "hierarchy" and "manually" but none of these options seem to work?
