Block sizing

Guys, I have inserted an image block, selected a 780 x 200 image and inserted. The block then displays at about 20px high. I have gone into edit mode 'edit' and 'design' but nothing seems to fix this. I am sure it simple but it beats me! Any suggestions please.Ian

First check the max width and max height when you edit the image.

Second, if you're using Firefox, right click on the image and click View Image Info - this should tell you whether the image is being resized

Third, check for any rogue css. Firebug for Firefox is a great addon for helping with this...

All fine. Image is 780 by 82 everywhere but when I display live the bottom is chopped off!

The image is 780 by 82 anyway so no resize going on. I guess a block issue. I am using a image block too.

Can you provide a link to the page?

Ummm, what else... It could be that it's cached a messed up version. Manually goto files/cache/ and make sure you delete all of the .jpg files in there...

What was the result of view Image Info in firefox? What does it give for the image size?

JUst a thought. The theme I am using (Eye)has an Add to Header Nav at the top. I have moved the nav to the side and am adding an Image block (with company logo) in its place. Would this cause a problem?

The Firefox dimensions were correct.

Could do - it would be probably be down to the css though. If the container was a fixed height with a hidden overflow or something like that...

I've put a small image in - 60px high and that fits and works. Guess it will have to do!!

Another question if I may - how can you make new pages by copying one you have done. I have about 20 identical ones to do!

All sorted - it was the CSS. I found the right one. Thanks for your help.

you can set the page defaults and then every-time you create a new page with that default everything will be the same. This link might help.

Thanks. I had missed the child pages setup bit!

I know this thread is old, but just want to add a tip I've sort of discovered:

Any block that I want to repeat on every page (nav, header logo, login, search, etc.) gets added to a global scrapbook.

Then, I edit the defaults of any page types that will contain those blocks and paste from the global scrapbook to the default pages. Once that's done, I use the "setup on child pages" functionality to duplicate the blocks on existing pages.

If you're careful, and you only paste from scrapbook and don't add new versions of the same repeating blocks (nav, logos, etc.) you'll have a minimal amount of cleanup work to do.

OOPS! I meant to add that you can actually copy pages in the sitemap. Just drag a page icon to the location you'd like to drop the page copy, and in the popup, select copy page.

I also highly recommend the 'add multiple pages' (http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/add-multiple-pages/) add-on for fast site building.

I wish I had discovered the multiple pages thing last week......! Thanks for letting me know though - for next time. I had also discovered Global Scrapbook which seems to work OK.
