Can't edit Page Type Defaults (no edit button)

Permalink 2 users found helpful
When I go into PAGE TYPES>>OUTPUT>>EDIT DEFAULTS , I can't edit (there's no Edit button or Add Content to Page button, only the Back arrow. This is happening with ALL the Page Types (on the Page Type page), as well as with ALL of the Template Choices (after selecting OUTPUT). ???

This is a new 5.7.5.1 site.

Using the same exact theme on a test install, it works fine.
And since it happens even if I change back to the Elemental Theme, I've ruled out a theme issue.

Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.

Also, the page area itself (everything below the header) is just empty.
I can edit the actual pages just fine. I just can't set up defaults for the page.

This is just weird, and frustrating. I checked everything I can think of.

Solved... sort of. The problem disappeared after closing everything down and rebooting. So I'm guessing it must have been a browser issue (which is still somewhat weird to me, because the same browser worked fine on a test site).

Oh well. End of conversation with myself.

I don't think it's just you. I have just been getting the same thing. After clicking "Edit Defaults" in concrete 5.7.5.2 I get a page with no "Edit Mode" or "Add Content" buttons. See screenshot.

Have you modified the default permissions for your site?

No, I don't think I've touched the permissions. I went in and checked the permissions for each page type and they all appear to be set to the default. Is there some other way to flush and reset the permissions (if that's what's needed)?

Have you tried creating another install on the server to see if it happens there?

You did eliminate a browser issue like I had, right? I haven't had this show up since, and the same installation has been upgraded to 5.7.5.3

Long necro'd thread, but I just had this issue in a new installation of:
# concrete5 Version
Core Version - 8.1.0
Version Installed - 8.1.0
Database Version - 20170123000000

I had created a new user for myself rather than use 'admin' and I assigned myself to the 'administrator' group. I was using that user for everything. I tried a Chrome Incognito window and still had no '+' when attempting to edit the template. I logged out as my user and back in as 'admin' and all was right with the world.
