This is really a hosting domain issue which you should get 1and1 to help you with.

In summary though, you will need to change the DNS records on your domain so the A-NAME record for mysite.org points to the IP address of the server where your Concrete5 installation is hosted. 1and1 will also need to make sure the server is correctly configured to map your domain to you hosting account (if it isn't already). You can then remove the DNS record which points cms.mysite.org to your hosting account.

Did you install concrete inside a folder called cms?
or have you created a sub-domain called cms?

I installed concrete through 1 and 1s built inn app selector. It installed in root folder in a folder with the name applicationxxxxxxx where the xs are a random string of numbers. My concrete dashboard is located at cms.mysite.org. I may try contacting 1and1 about this. Thanks for the help you guys and any additional tips are welcome.
