Config Advanced Permissions in 5.3

Is this definition still required in the site.php file when using 5.3 ?
[define('PERMISSIONS_MODEL', 'advanced');]

It was never required since it's supposed to be an option and therefore only needs to be in site.php if you need it..
if you need to have advanced permissions on, is this line required? Or is the a better way of doing it like in the dashboard?
Not a way in the Dashboard at this time. I however do think it should be a button when logged in via admin.
I now have it as one of the first things we do, when we install an instance of Concrete.
